I'm sure there should be a stop or yield sign here for one of these directions. I don't know which, but there are near misses for head-on collisions daily here. Luckily, everyone is going pretty slowly and is able to avoid an accident... thus far (to my knowledge).

Sounds good to me. So if the traffic on Grinnell must stop, why no stop sign or yield sign? Especially seeing as how it appears that it continues through. It's an obvious hazard and like I said, I've seen near-misses there many times and been involved in a couple even though I do stop going in either direction (because I'm afraid something will happen).
Both portions of the diagram state that the traffic must either stop or yield, but because both directions also appear to have a straight shop and because there are no signs, no one stops or yields. It's dangerous.
