The debris pile contains asbestos , lead and biohazard waste -human excrement and used needles to name a few , stockpiling this in a residential neighbourhood is a violation of too many laws to mention . much of the info posted here is the exact opposite of regulatory and industry standards , this is looking like a botched job .

Thank you for fixing the cover which had a big gap n it.. Given the "toxic stew" under the plastic I would like to know what the senior engineer means by "the cover will stay in place so far as is practible" What does that even mean?
We were told previously that the hauling would commence on OCT 14th. So I hope it is going to start on October 28th. I sure would like the senior engineer to explain to me why we have to have some sort of hermetically sealed trucks to haul the waste away across the highways, but a big old plastic sheet and a few rolls of duct tape is the perfect containment right next door to an apartment building and across the street from a suburb where children live?

Yes Jean well stated this project , or disaster is in violation of so many federal and state laws , as to require Federal oversight , and a ban of COV public works to EVER have a hand in any simular projects the track record speaks for itself as do the million dollar fines We have paid for ... Seems only when the cost of these violations and fines , come out of the Administrative budget of Public works , will there be a Sea change .. sadly the wood shed remains the best option , along with recruitment and new blood ..

Hopefully Dan Keen can wedge in some time between the'VPOA 'Raping' and the many non prioritised issues , many of wich require very nimble people , and far thinkers ... Our Community is comprised of all walks of life .. Council priorities , equate to just a small component of the big picture But Vallejo has paid millions of dollars in fines and violations , yes millions , this must not be the norm , and should never be carried foreward ... Every dime spent on the million dollar fines , impossed by Bay area Regulatory agencies , is just that much less that Vallejo can spend on our infrastructure and Streets .. This bigger is the budget ---- the bigger Staff / ENGINEERING estimates projects for are , this is TOTALLY CORRUPT .. What is SO disturbing is that the Bigger they estimate a project for , the more their department can MILK from it ...Our Council needs to break this cycle ... A CITY of our size does not need a , huge Engineering Department , We are not Cal-Trans , We do need some licenced Engineers , but not a whole floor of them ... contracting /outsourcing looks to be the best option ,,, outsourcing and contracting with , good outcomes , should be the focus of this Council , not the Nepotism of years past ........moving foreward any estimate or cost report , or any thing that is used for , any form of procurement , whatsoever --- MUST be Vallidated

While no disclosure 'as per law' to my knowledge has been communicated to the affected neighbourhood it is well known that the building contained asbestos, lead , human waste and refuse as well as used needles. The human health risk was severe enough to prevent personal from performing remediation pre demolition , so the decision was made to demolish the building with no cleanup , this resulted in the toxic stew/pile the neighbourhood is currently blessed with . Now with rain coming the potential for spread of these contaminants is great , especially with the totally inadequate containment in place . Fecal coliform and blood bourne pathogens present an imminent risk to the neighbourhood as well as both domestic and wild animals , when the asb and chemical contaminates are factored, this toxic pile poses an imminent risk to those in it's sphere of influence and a huge liability to our City .... The disposal challenges are a direct result of poor project management and non compliance with environmental laws .

Now it is raining and I see NO EVIDENCE of any activity by the city whatsoever! When are you getting rid of this eyesore as well as dangerous toxic stew????

Thanks for reporting! The material has been completely removed. Contracting crews are currently spreading material at the site to fill the holes left from demolition - this will be complete by the end of the week (12/19). Thanks again for using SeeClickFix.
