This is a zoning violation. A green area of a regulation size must be maintained by the owner. Its a tree law, and requirement in zoning. Nothing like this is allowed without a tree permit either. Asphalt poisons trees.
Hi. Following up on this again. I am the homeowner and senzari filled in the tree pit with asphalt when they did water line work on my block. Who in the city is responsible for getting them to fix this. According to the comment above, this is poisonous to the tree so would like them to fix asap.
No, this isn’t the right solution. The tree pit is too small now because they replaced the dirt with asphalt. They need to make it a proper sized tree pit with the right amount of dirt
Sorry for the confusion, I received an update from the JCMUA that the tree pit would be restored to the way it was before. Thank you for reporting to the City of Jersey City.
