How about encouraging your city councilmen to hire more police officers, provide more vehicles for police officers and a raise/contract for current officers? More officers to handle assignments, more vehicles for officers to get to assignments and a raise in pay/benefits for a major boost in absurdly low morale. The happier the officers, the more likely they'll care.

Good point George....we agree. More police on foot & bikes would help as well.
