warehouse blight

Curious about this place myself. Proposed sale to whom and for what use?

Last I heard.......The property has been in foreclosure and the court should approve the sale in the near future.

This item has not been fixed. We have requested help from the previous owners, talked to city officials at City Hall and we are STILL WAITING for this space to be properly maintained. This is disgusting and a serious BLIGHT to this struggling neighborhood. Does anyone care?

Thanks for asking...yes there is a word:
1.) The building is being foreclosed on.
1,000,000 owed to the bank + 100,000 owed the city
2.) It should go to foreclosure sale in early April
Current owners got the court to stall the sale.
3.) LCI is writing a letter to ask them to clean. If they refuse - LCI will and place a lein on the property.
4.) A local developer came and is trying to purchase. Sounds like they want a mixed use, family friendly development. They want neighborhood buy-in. They will present their plan in a public meeting.
5.) We, concerned citizens, have to hold the city responsible to do their job or we will continue to have a problem on our hands.

So, is there any word for the rest of us following this issue?How did the meeting go?

The meeting is confirmed.

Date: Tuesday Feb. 2, 2010
Time: 5:30 PM
Loc: City Hall, 165 Church Street.

The meeting will be held in one of the meeting rooms on the second floor across from the BOA Chambers. It will be posted on the sign on the second floor. We will be meeting with Kelly Murphy, the Economic Development Administrator and other LCI officials.

I'll look forward to this meeting. We really need to see this hulk of a building taken care of instead of dragging out neighborhood down. Let's get this thing taken done.

A tentative date has been set aside for Tuesday Feb. 2 at 5:30 PM at City Hall. I will provide you detailed information when it is forwarded so you may invite neighbors.

The warehouse is now up for foreclosure sale. No meeting with the residents has been scheduled. The last thing we need is another absentee landlord trying to re-develop this property for industrial use. Our neighborhood is crying out for "family friendly" development with parks, a community center and / or affordable "for sale" housing. This city need a clear plan as to how they plan to develop Fair Haven and residents are a part of that plan. If you care about this project let you voice be heard.
