Once again car meetups that are allowed by the City at the U.S.S. Hornet are brining large crowds of reckless drivers to the neighborhood. My dog and I almost got hit at a crosswalk by a pickup truck that must have been traveling 45 mph down W Atlantic. They didn’t slow down at all even though we had entered the crosswalk.
The City of Alameda and the police department have say idly by for 3+ years since the area Vegas been developed and have taken no action to stop dangerous species g that threatens citizens in the neighborhood. Speed bumps, in street pedestrian yield signage and digital speed signage could be implemented immediately but the City refuses to act.
What city official planned the development of this area without realizing that nearby breweries Hornet car meet-ups and the Seaplane Lagoon ferry would cause these dangerous conditions for the neighborhood? Shame on Alameda. So much for being a safer alternative to San Francisco and Oakland…
