Now that a vehicle has run the 4 way stop which has been installed in this intersection and tumbled into a home, what else will it take to get a stop light? Just lucky nobody was in the home. The vehicle was demolished as well as ethousands o
f dollars in damage to the home. Please tell the taxpayers in this community what we are to do in order to get a stop light? We are all ears and are willing to listen to what you have to say. Please don't turn a deaf ear to us. Peoples lives are at stake here folks!

I've known this area very well for years. Though I live close to and in the town limits of Columbia, my work took me there plus college family members going to Midlands Tech for years. AND to think we almost moved to that area years ago which is MUCH worse today. Our baby sitter was out there in a private home.

What is it about a "STOP" sign and/or a 4 way "STOP" sign at that location people don't understand! STOP MEANS STOP...NOT A SLOW HIT THE BRAKES AND KEEP ROLLING ON?!

My gosh, this can be a child or children who is or are hit...our MOST precious commodity in our lives!!! Just ask parents what it's like to lose a child so senselessly this way?

Andrew, have you gone to the locals and then to the media to have it on tv (WIS, WOLO, WLTX, FOX)? Sorry.. but those who seem to be in charge must be knuckleheads. What is a value of a child to them? Do they want law suits?

Take videos of all this. I hope you were able to use your cell to capture the wreck in the home.

Would these neighbors consider signing petitions that you and neighbors take to town hall meetings? Make sure the media is there and neighbors are signed up to speak out. The squeakiest wheel GETS the grease!

Come on, Lexington, people who are involved in street lights, put one there!!! Until then, police should be issuing tickets to these lawbreakers before people...especially for our Greatest Asset...peoples children...are injured and killed!

My own area of a small subdivision and a Montessori School with a 2 way stop had a child fall out of her mama's vehicle as the seat belt gave way being hit from the other side where no stop sign existed on that end, and drivers could go up to 50 miles per hour while the 2 way stop one can only go 5 - 10 miles per hour. Many of us saw this poor mama add flowers and wreaths weekly to the corner where it happened. It took 3 years to add the other 2 stop signs. Someone had to get sued from a child's loss and future earnings and loss of family enjoyment!

What are YOUR priorities Lexington County?! Step up to the plate!

If someone is willing to step up to the plate and lets get a petition started in this area, I will be more than glad to work with you. Taxpayers in Lexington County deserve better than this. Its a sad day when voters and taxpayers have to go to this extreme to save someone's life or maybe our own. How would the officials like for their paychecks to be withheld until the problem is solved? Something to think about.
