Bridgeport, CT assigned this issue to Police Department Official 1

This has been going on for a long time and was reported to our Council Rep during the first phase of this happening, but nothing changed. That property is owned by an out of town landlord. He must know something g, or someone, we don’t!

He knows Ganium and his police department won’t do anything about it.

Do you know this as a fact or are you frustrated and are assuming?

You can look the property up on Vision Appraisal and you will see this address and the adjoining property/ parking lot belong to people in Redding.

So, is anyone even looking into this complaint?

Probably not. This Jeep with a Tennessee plate has sat in the same spot on Gedulding Street and was first reported the week before Christmas. It has now sat there through two small snow events and has not moved in over three weeks. Any other city will consider it abandoned and at least put a ticket on it. Not Bridgeport. so our guess is they are ignoring your complaint also.

Another van showed up a week ago and hasn’t moved since.

This isn’t right

We have been complaining about this massive commercial cab and flatbread with three cars on it parked on RESIDENTIAL Jewett Avenue right at the intersection of Enid street for well over a month. Drove home on Jewett Avenue at 5 PM tonight, and Guess who is right back in our residential neighborhood with no penalty from the mayors office or the police department?!? This commercial driver is giving us the middle finger and we are paying taxes and getting no action on this! In any suburban neighborhood, this would’ve been dealt with within a week. Mayoral primary is coming up – remember this northern voters!

Coming home from work at 6 PM last night, commercial flatbed still on residential Jewett Avenue, right by Enid Street, no ticket. Ganium and his police department continue to let this commercial abomination park in our residential neighborhood. Over four weeks now.

We think the north end residents should get together and hire a lawyer and sue Ganium and his chief of police. Just drove home at 5 PM tonight and that massive cab and commercial trailer with three cars on it again is on Jewett Avenue on the corner of Enid Street. We have been reporting that since before Christmas, it’s going on almost 7 weeks! It’s massive! Why can’t the mayor and the police department get that commercial cab and trailer with three cars on it again tonight out of a residential neighborhood?! This driver needs to take his commercial vehicle and flatbed and the THREE cars on it and put it in a COMMERCIAL parking lot! I think in June nobody in the north end where these illegal trucks are parking should pay property taxes and we think we need to talk to an attorney. I have also forwarded a couple of these complaints with pictures to the governor.

The North End is without a voice on anything happening here. I’m not saying that isn’t the same case in other neighborhoods but it is clear that my own neighborhood may as well face the fact that everything we report falls on deaf ears.

Thank you Taylor but I have contacted both Council Members, one when this parking lot began and the other last week. I have also contacted the City directly regarding this utility environmental disaster that we should have been notified about and we were not (I spoke to two different offices and posted on 311). I am waiting for the second Council member to respond to the parking lot question. I am doubtful that anything will be done about it, however.

You just have to stay with it! Be a pest. We pay high enough taxes here, don't we?

If there is a violation on a property the " cease and desist " order goes out to the OWNER of the property. You don't fool around with the tenants. Hopefully our enforcement officials know that.
At worst, you begin to fine, or send out the sheriff with papers for a lawsuit. Usually once the sheriff arrives...things clean up fast.

I hope they know the process. Above my pay grade.
