Thank you for reporting! Public Works has one full-time Maintenance worker whose sole job is to respond to illegal dumping reports throughout the City. This person usually makes 2 or more trips to the dump everyday, with each load weighing in around 1,200 pounds. We strive to respond to all reports in a timely fashion. If you see someone dumping illegally please report the incident to the Vallejo Police Department.

If the cities budget is so constrained (and misused IMHO) why don't you develop a volunteer system to get this trash off our streets. Vallejo already has a horrible reputation and the ever growing problem of trash on city streets along with dumping just adds to its dubious rep!!! Find a way!

I own 1104 Georgia one block from the Vallejo Police Dept. Over the past year my property has been repeatedly vandalized for its wiring and plumbing: sold to local metal scrappers.3 times for the wiring, twice for my water heaters, AC, and plumbing which was cut a t floor level- even before I can repair the sheetrock! Garbage and excrement litter the back alley (Indian Alley). All I get are warnings from the Vallejo Code Enforcement to fix the broken fencing and siding left over from the criminals entering my building. The police officers tell me that they can't do anything about the criminal trespassers though they work only a block away and frequently pass by my building. This winter a transient,repeatedly driven off the property set fire to her encampment against my building, burning it, the fencing and the neighboring house- no investigation, no arrests.
Last weekend while cleaning up with my son, we drove off 3 trespassers. Two 911 calls later resulted in a meeting with a pair of well meaning but clearly demoralized officers.
The rest of the Bay Area is thriving. Towns such as Emeryville and El Cerrito which used to be dangerous have transformed as the politics changed. Vallejo has not despite its potential.
For my family and I it was a BIG MISTKE TO HAVE INVESTED IN VALLEJO.

May cameras help to capture the offenders? I know often their don't even have valid license plates but I wonder if the city could put up a camera at an Alley that constantly has illegal dumping, then go after those who do the dumping and fine them the $1000.00 if they don't pay go after their salary, put a lean on their home etc. Would that be possible? This is just a suggestion. We have so much trash in our alleys it is disgusting.
