McAuley Road is an unpaved state-maintained secondary road and is the responsibility of the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

I can understand if Huntersville is not the responsible entity. But, I understood this site was for identifying potholes/problems for NC roads, and the site asks where the road is. If the state/county wants to keep McCauley as a quaint, historic gravel road, doesn't that mean they keep it passable? Reason tells you upkeep is more necessary on gravel than asphalt, and you have the added burden this year of a sewer line project that has added many times the normal use/abuse of the road.
