This bridge is very hazardous to ride on because the shoulder, while wide, is FULL of glass and other trash. My experience was reinforced by a Philly bike messenger who said that he avoids this bridge because of the glass, and feels compelled to ride in traffic to avoid the glass when he does ride on it.
