Cal - If it is truly a private road and being maintained with taxpayer dollars, then it is everyone's business..

Cal, first of all, the speed limit on the road is 15 mph. The point is that if the signs were put up by an employee of the city, who paid for the signs? Also, if it is being plowed by the city employee because he lives there, isn't that abuse of our tax payers' money? Inquiring minds want to know. I AM a taxpayer and have the RIGHT to know!!!!

Understandibly WE are tax payers. You ask who paid for the sign? Someone, had to go to a police commissioners meeting to get it approved. The point that I am making is, the city is on a downward spiral, crooked people within the system, from Town hall to the schools. Neighborhoods that are an eyesore in its self, delopitated buildings, minimal afternoon sports or activities for the kids, Taxes for sewer, cars and property keep going up. Here we are worring about a sign. Like everything else, the city will sweep this issue under the carpet and move on to the next. I have been dealing with lazy garbage men. Till this day, the issue I put up hasn't been resolved. Not a hard job to accomplish, yet It doesn't get done. Small things like that make our city look like garbage throughout.

There are two houses there and the agriculture center no? The houses pay taxes and are they not entitled to what all taxpayers get? Plow, garbage, speed limits. I live near there and have no problem with garbage or those people getting plowed

I don't think your assumptions are accurate because their driveways are on Sobin which means they are not supposed to use that road. Who paid for the signs on that road and why are my tax dollars being spent to maintain a private road. I want to know!

No, the problem has not been fixed. The plows are still plowing the private road and the signs are still there. I think either the town put up the signs or the neighbor stole the signs from his employer, the town, and put them up for his benefit.

Easy fix, call the police department and ask for an answer.

Easier fix. Why has the city not seen this post and investigated already. Sure, the Police Department is going to be able to pull receipts for speed limit signs and tell you if the city is plowing a private road. Posting here shines an important light on Ansonia's problems and forces action. One person making a call no one hears about accomplishes nothing.

Enough of this subject. I see no problem here

#1 there are houses on that street and driveways are on that street. Those people pay taxes. They have every right to have the services we all have. I have no problem with it. You must have other houses that you are thinking of. I have been down that street. In addition the US Forest service is there. You going to have to fight the federal government on this one.
