I have seen people being hit by cars in crosswalks several times over the 20 years I have lived on this block. Have given up on complaining since there is no response from the city.

Still no resolution to the crosswalk issue and the hazard persists.There is not even the enhanced signage that has been installed on East Capitol.

Contacted Scott Price today about this issue that is still unresolved. With dark days coming on it will only get more dangerous for the school kids and others. I'm wondering if the city will wait for another librarian to get run over?

ANC6C03 Scott Price here. We've met with CM Tommy about the glacial speed of DDOT, and learned we have plenty of company throughout DC with general dissatisfaction with DDOT performance. I was recently told that DDOT is using the recent safety improvements at tth and MD-- after the librarian got hit -- to show how responsive they are. There are 3 major log-jams in this project: historic review, environmental review, and traffic light study. The scheduling of the historic review for Monday is a huge step forward. Also the speed cameras at 7th and 10th streets should help. The emailing list for this project exceeds 200 people. Still no sign of action (or signage) at this intersection. Both Constitution and Mass Ave are hazardous to pedestrians at the intersection with 7th NE.

Going on 2 1/2 years, and not even a sign warning motorists to watch for pedestrians.

There is now a bus stop for the 96 bus at this intersection that increases pedestrian traffic across this dangerous intersection. Letters to the mayor to WMATA and to the DC streets department have not been answered.

Eric, have you tried calling 311 and asking for the status of this issue #238331 ? It might be worth seeing what it looks like in their system.

WMATA was to add pedestrian crossing signs with the rerouting of the bus down Mass Ave and the new bus stop, but has not done so yet.

The Streets Department is apparently doing a study of this issue.....

No action at all. More pedestrian traffic with new bus stop. Cars still running the red light on Constitution and not yielding to pedestrians.

Also, please put in speed cameras on Massachusetts Ave and Constitution Ave where they intersect with 7th Street NE.

Definitely, both cars and the busses often seem to go through the intersection full tilt.

I contacted DDOT and Michelle Simms (michelle.simms3@dc.gov) created a new service request for tracking purposes. The new 311 Service Request Confirmation number is 16-00731636.

Michelle also forwarded the information to the DDOT traffic signal team.

New apartments in redeveloped hospital and more pedestrian traffic at risk soon.

The new DDOT tracking number for this is 16-00731636, but it's not available on the District-wide 311 system - real smart DDOT. For a status, one must actually call DDOT or email michelle .simms3@dc.gov. Talk about mission impossible!

What is the status? I live nearby and this is very very dangerous to walk through. Why is it taking so long to resolve? Please advise.
