COR is ignoring these problems - Closing

It was reported less than 24hrs ago. Quit closing issues because you're grouchy and at least give CoR a chance to say something.

As stated earlier, this is being referred to the Public Works Department. When they have responded an update will be posted. Thank you!

My parents recently stayed at the Hampton Inn and I thought we could walk over to Crabtree Mall since it is so close. WRONG! I cannot believe there is not safe sidewalks and crossing to go across the street! We had to get in my car and drive and look for a parking spot which took more time then it should have to walk there from the hotel. Ridiculous.

The Public Works Department has responded. Staff studied the intersection of Blue Ridge Rd and Crabtree View Pl for a crosswalk. This location does not meet the warrants for an unsignalized crosswalk. There is an alternative to access Crabtree Valley from the hotel on Arrow Dr. Pedestrians can use the sidewalk along Glenwood Ave and access the greenway on Crabtree View Pl which will allow them to enter the mall from Crabtree Valley Ave. This area has been studied recently to see what improvements could be made to the area for all modes of transportation in the Crabtree Valley Transportation Study.

The section of Glenwood Ave from I440 to Fairhill Dr is currently ranked 70th out of 211 sidewalk improvement projects. These improvements would allow a signalized crossing to be installed across Blue Ridge at the intersection with Glenwood. Also there is one small section of sidewalk missing on the west side of Blue Ridge at the intersection with Glenwood can be addressed through the Glenwood project or other future sidewalk improvement funding.

All requests for sidewalk improvements should be directed to the Office of Transportation Planning.
