Are you an "elected official" or otherwise associated with the Mayor or Yale or the NH Police Department, because you are doing some real disservice to our residents by making that statement. STREET GANGS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING FORMS OF TRAFFICKING: HUMAN TRAFFICKING, AKA PROSTITUTION, DRUG TRAFFICKING AND ILLEGAL FIREARMS TRAFFICKING. In addition, they use their "ho's" to bag up their drugs. Most prostitution is not "women trying to put food on the table," it is HUMAN TRAFFICKING - the forced, coerced, manipulation of our girls, women and children into lives of sexual slavery. This is one of the biggest problems with New Haven - the obfuscation of the truth to its own residents, in order to prevent panic. You're a real sick person, preventing people, especially New Haven's girls, from becoming sex slaves within CT, as well as trafficked all over the globe. And anyone else who doubts me, I suggest you watch marathons of GANGLAND on SpikeTV, usually all day Fridays. Residents, you can also do your own research. I was educated on this issue by the Barnaba Institute of Clinton, but plenty of national orgs exist to enlighten and educate, including Polaris Project, EcpatUSA and more. Wow, BJG, your comment is really over the top and slamming FairHavenRes the way you did is uncalled for. Do you live in Fair Haven? I do, and, obviously, FairHavenRes does, too. We are pretty aware of how and why prostitution occurs in our community. I imagine this individual, like me, has seen "transactions" go down and/or intentionally or unintentionally interrupted them. Human trafficking is awful, but I don't think this is the case with most Fair Haven prostitution.

I think the personal attacks are a a bit unwarranted, per SCF guidelines, but okay. Yes street gangs are involved in everything you mentioned, but it doesn't make the reverse true, that EVERY drug deal or prostitution deal is tied to a street gang; that's simply not the case. Some are and some aren't. The little everyday stuff that goes on in Fair Haven, like on Poplar St, is frequently 1-2 people seeking out drugs and they are not tied to gangs. I know; I live here, I know many of the prostitutes and way too many of the small time drug dealers. Heck, I've had some of them as tenants every now and then (quite by accident). They aren't tied to gangs; they're involved solely in a personal enterprise. Do street gangs exist? Sure they do; no one's arguing with you on that. But the small time stuff that we see in Fair Haven is frequently not related to any gang. In fact, making the assumption that EVERY drug deal and EVERY prostitute is tied to a gang is actually doing a disservice to the REAL gang related work that the police and undercover agents are working so diligently on.

I agree with the Fair Haven res and another fh res hit the nail on the head. I see the same prostitutes hanging out regularly on Chapel and Ferry.
BJG maybe a little less TV would bring you back to the reality of New Haven. These aren't girls that I see, they are very much adults making some desperate and sad choices in life.

Please new haven police department take notice of this issue. We have a lot children who play outside on this street. This use to be a quite street now I'm seeing a lot of activity.

I made no personal attacks. I simply want FHR to reveal himself if indeed he is involved with the city, NHPD, etc. If not, you are terribly ignorant to the truth here, and I am tired of New Haven residents being kept in the dark about this issue. Kermit Carolina is the only one who even acknowledges the problem, of all of the mayoral candidates. Everyone wants to sweep this under the rug, thereby allowing the gangs to continue their business under the radar. Well I'm not going to let that happen. People may not like what I say, or how I say it, but it is all the truth. Also, people still think that prostitution is streetwalking, and while we do have some of that in NH, more often, sex slaves are trafficked via social networking, Craigslist, back page ads, etc., and driven from filthy motel to motel to motel to "serve" clients. BY THEIR STREET GANG PIMPS. We also have brothels in New Haven.

Instead of being upset with me for having passion about this, and determination to stop this issue, please do some research, educate yourselves and others. None of this - the gangs, the trafficking - is acceptable for New Haven.

We have been in contact with the owner of this property. The eviction process has already begun, but please bear in mind that the process takes time.

LCI, could we get a status update on this property, please? If the landlord indeed filed a Notice To Quit, there should be something on the JUD site by now, but no case exists. Thanks!

FHR: The "Notice to quit" was served by state marshall. That is not recorded on the JUD site. The owner states that they will be served this week with the "Summary Process" which will show on the JUD site.

Yes, I should have chould have clarified that if the NTQ was filed, a case would be on the site because the Summary Process would have been the next step and it's recorded by the housing court. Thanks for the update, LCI.
