Seriously? Does it really matter? Traffic from both lanes has to move a bit to the center at the railroad tracks anyway. You could argue the right lane is merging also. The speed limit is 30, so its not like cars are cutting each other off; often cars stay in left lane because they are turning left after tracks into the industrial area. There are more important issues; if you want a bigger sign, then pay for it yourself!!!

Actually the left lane does end, the road is marked, there is a sign, granted folks just choose to ignore it, either from ignorance or plain rudeness.
When you are driving with your family and mutiple times during the week someone almost hits your car because they are not paying attention to road markings.
Yes it does matter, unless you are the inconsiderate driver that rides the left lane until the last second.

Well, it seems that the sign was probably inspected and I haven't noticed it changed. The tree branches blocking the sign is probably a bigger issue. The merge sign should probably be about 50 feet further down the road so there is more time for drivers to react. That said, if you are almost getting into accidents multiple times a week in the same spot of road, you should maybe check your own driving; if you are going too slow for normal traffic, then we 'inconsiderate drivers' are going to be passing you every time, since there are two lanes to drive on.
