I have lived in the area since the early 70s.
From 3rd, down Piedmont to 2nd and then down to 19th has been neglected for decades.
All of the street drains have been silted in or collapsed. This is part of why the streets were so damaged during the storm. All the water that should have gone in at least 8 now missing drains went down 3rd, Piedmont, then curved around 2nd and then 19th, tearing up the road and knocking out part of the retaining wall holding up Piedmont.
You can bet that I will be providing pictures and asking the local reps and city council candidates in the next election what they are going to do about it.
These are heavily traveled roads and if you look, you will see the 100 year old cobblestone and stone curbs poking through the tar facade.
