The city is to blame for their over controlling traffic mentality. The median should be removed. The light installed for pedestrian crossing should be moved further down to the Ethan Allen entrance and be used to serve a dual purpose.

Within just the past two weeks I've witnessed three incidents here where someone made a U-turn and then realized they didn't have the turning radius to clear the curb. In one instance they jumped the curb onto the sidewalk in front of three pedestrians who were only 15 feet away and then sped off (fast). Another instance forced a southbound car to screech to a halt to avoid t-bone-ing the the U-turner. And just yesterday traffic was backed up at least 8 car lengths when someone did this during rush hour.

C'mon CoR. It's been three months since an evaluation was requested. Either address it or state that you won't and live with the consequences.

PS: Note to 'johnhinnc'. We already know your opinion, so feel free NOT to repeat yourself unless you have new information. Increasing traffic pressure here requires more precautions to avoid mishaps and injuries from misjudgement of others. That's just a fact. If you want less controls, find a place to live with less density. Definitely NOT North Hills.

Staff recommends having a no U-Turn sign installed. This will be put on the council agenda for approval on January 21st, upon approval the effective date would be the following Tuesday, January 28th.
