we have seen an increase in speeding drivers down our residential street. It is 25mph, yet we see people going anywhere from 35-95mph. we requested a speed cart at one point, and other neighbors have as well. It is getting worse and worse. we need speed bumps or a stop sign or a roundabout to slow people down. we have kids and no sidewalks and lots of people on bikes and walking. One neighbor actually got hit while walking by a speeding car (they are fine, just brushed them) we are at 18th and 170th NE

I'll second this request. We desperately need speed bumps, a stop sign, or a roundabout at 18th & 170th.

I’m third this request. Speeding cars on 10th Ave NE are increasing as well. With school starts, please send a biker police to sit hère writing citations. Thank you! More and more Drivers are in a rush, avoid 5th and 15th and lack of respect!

Agreed. Speeding is a problem from 15th St up NE 170th & down 170th. Very dangerous. We’re close to 15th St.

The roundabout on 10th and 170th does not even seems to slow some drivers down. Many times, I had to hit a break so hard when cars sped on 10th Ave NE direction.

The wide, straight stretch of road on 170th between 15th and 22nd encourages advanced speeds. Please, consider speed reduction methods to reduce the likelihood of serious injury or death.

Thank you all for your comments. We have forwarded the requests for speed bumps/speed reduction methods to the City's Traffic Engineer for review. We have also contacted law enforcement and passed along the requests for increased traffic enforcement in this area.

I also live on 170th between 15th and 22nd and the speeding has gotten worse over the years. The speeding happens all hours of the day and night. Thank you City of Shoreline for forwarding the request to the Traffic Engineer, I appreciate you looking into speed reduction options.

Thank you Shoreline! We have had several near misses on this street while walking, so many close calls of cars running us over. 170th NE is way to wide open and driver’s are clearly taking advantage of it. I seem to notice it in the late afternoons/evenings the most

We have the same problem on 180th below 15th in North City where it's supposed to be 25mph. People drive so fast we have no chance of getting a license plate number or even see drivers' faces. Many animals have been injured or killed along here and it's only a matter of time before one of the many pedestrians are too. Please help!

It's not resolved, is it? I went to Ridgecrest school today, children are back to school, cars drove by fast, over 20 mph, on 10th and in front of the school with kids and parents walking, I think we need a biker cop sitting here at 11:30AM

Some bigger kids ran across the street themselves, we can save lives. Keep in mind one side of 10th Ave NE, does not have a sidewalk. Kids are in danger.

Hi Jazz, I spoke with a city traffic engineer about this very topic. It's apparent to me that they evaluate eligibility for traffic control on ~ a block by block basis. It might be worthwhile for you to submit a separate service request for the other areas you're addressing as they will be considered differently.

Listen shoreline my friend was hit by a speeding car on this street. We saw multiple cars racing down 170th this week. It is out of control. I am with the other guy and will build my own speed bumps too if this is not addressed. We pay taxes, use the money to fix this before someone gets killed. It’s ridiculous! Lived here all my life and have never seen such reckless behavior on a residential street, it’s unreal!
