Not good when people are falling! Public Works, can something be done about this?

Once Mayor Toni works out the budget for her police drivers and the spokesperson she hired from Woodbridge where she has another mansion she will have her people jump all over that mound of snow.

My car is ripped up too, thanks to the giant ice mountains I had to maneuver between so I could get my car off the street during the weeklong parking ban.

I also have a ton of damage to the front bumper on my car. A dent and a cracked bumper due to the mounds of snow. During the week long residential ban, I had to park on the street in between snow banks that froze in between storms that were never plowed. It's frustrating that I have damage to my car from having to repeatedly move it during the storms when the city never plowed the streets like they said they would. Still mounds of snow on Orange St between Edwards and Humphrey. I'd like to park my car without the fear of more damage being done.

Who drives into ice mounds not expecting to damage their cars??

the answer: Yale students who either 1) leave their cars buried under snow praying for spring to come soon; 2) Yale students who take the shuttle, which is not available to East Rock residents.

Or people who live in areas with no off street parking who need to go to work everyday. There are "snow mountains" on the even side of the street throughout Westville which continue to impede traffic and create a hazard for pedestrians and cars alike. Despite two parking bans, no plows have come through and the mountains remain. Inquiries to the city about when this side of the street will be cleared remain unanswered.

Try being more aware of the size of your car !!

Maybe it would help if the Mayor and other heads of departments got out from behind their desks once in awhile and WALKED around, (not in a limo or with an entourage) and see what a mess the city is, and it's not just the snow and ice.

Someone should warn them not to wear their nice shoes . . .

Re: cars and parking. It is NOT only lazy Yale students etc. whose cars got damaged in this mess, and not only careless drivers. On my small street, driveways are incredibly narrow. If people are parked on the other side of the street (as they always are), it always takes some maneuvering back and forth to get one's car into the driveway even in good conditions.

Pulling into the driveway when it is flanked by huge piles of frozen snow -- literally, leaving just barely enough room on either side for the car to pass through -- and when the opposite side of the street is filled with similarly huge, unplowed piles of snow means that, yes, when you're trying to angle the car into the driveway it is very likely you will scrape the sides and/or back bumper of the car against the snow-heaps. (That is, if you're lucky enough not to have your car get stuck in a pile of snow behind you are you're backing out, something that happened to a lot of my neighbors during the weeks we were made to wait for plowing.)

I slipped and fell on ice two Fridays ago & sprained my ankle badly. Im a dogwalker, and I was out of work for days. I still shouldnt be back to work after 11 days, because Im in alot of pain & wearing one of those big boots, but I cant afford to stay home. Im so over this,
