I live behind the construction site on Ocean Avenue and Cortelyou Roads at 257 East 19th Street. I've lived here 25 years and never saw a rat. Since construction started I've seen a dozen rats on East 19th Street, both alive and dead. Yesterday my husband saw a huge one running along the foundation of our house. Please, send an exterminator and deal with these rats. It not safe for the kids to play in the backyard and grown vegetables and herbs as we do now.
