The section of the sidewalk next to new housing project has been closed but no safe alternatives have been provided to the pedestrians to cross to the other side. The road has heavy traffics and there is a lot of pedestrian traffic that has to jaywalk now due to this closure. The Kimball bridge has neighborhoods on both sides and the side walks are essential for pedestrians ( kids & adults) to get around. The sidewalk is used by kids & adults to get to Ocee park for their recreational activities. A temporary pedestrian crossing should be setup from pedestrians to safely cross to the other side along with enough warnings for vehicles to stop for pedestrians. Otherwise we are waiting for a bad accident to happen

The crosswalk on canton street, just north of the canton st/roswell st/milton ave intersection, really should either have the indicator trigger button moved to the other side of the crosswalk or have a motion-sense indicator like the one on Haynes bridge near the library. Kids crossing this morning to reach Rivers Academy cross at the very front edge of the crosswalk without walking the sizable distance to press the button that would trigger the indicators. The second group crossing was nearly hit by an oncoming vehicle that did not see them in the center of the intersection until they stepped out in front of them. Between traffic, the early morning light, and no indicator lights activated, someone is going to get hit. At that time, it is mostly children/teens taking that route, in a hurry, and it is unreasonable to think that they will take the extra time to walk out of their way to activate indicator lights. It is amazing they are using a crosswalk at all. Automating the safety indicators at this intersection (or changing the position to make sure they are picking up pedestrians at the place where they are entering the crosswalk) would go a long way towards making this a safer crossing.

Need an update system to indicate when people are using the crosswalk. Many crosswalks around town have been updated to have lights flashing to indicate when people are crossing.

Recent utility line work in the area, trucks entering/exiting the right of way damaged multiple sections of the sidewalk including forming deep ruts in the grass area.
