Description
The old "mechanic" who lives here parks several cars and tractors on the corner which prevents emergency vehicles from being able to turn onto Susan Street from Pine Grove Avenue - demonstrated in the recent house fire emergency a few weeks ago.

More than likely The original poster of this complaint has some personal issue with the owner of this residence. This owner has lived in Kingston all his life, he has worked hard in kingston all his life, and he is disabled. He plows susan street every winter when kingston city plows leave it untouched every single winter. He plows out local neighbors, the elderly up and down pine grove ave, susan, and summer street. People who without his help, may be stuck in their homes for days because they are too old and my not have the means to have this done. again, he is crippled, and the city of kingston plows do nothing.
-But go ahead and complain on things that are just plain untrue, there was no blocking of any streets during the fire early this month. plain lie. Having tractors on the sidewalk does not make you in violation of anything. Obviously Aldermen Fuentes is only trying to boost her rating with liars or misinformed readers. As if she is going to fix anything anyway. Why dont you go over to south clinton where regular tax paying law abiding citizens are in fear of their safety and stop worrying about tractors on the sidewalk.
I believe the mayor, would act if wrong doing is involved, since there isnt any, there is no action to take. please save this area for actual issues and not a place for vindictive people to spread lies about a handicap person who helps his neighborhood for 30 years, and for would-be politicians to manipulate viewers. shame on you!

I did some research on this Miss Fuentes, and i dont want you to think I am attacking you, I am not. I applaud your efforts in all you have done, however, there are simply some facts wrong on this.
*The school bus going in, it was going out.
*The man you are attacking, 100% disabled for the last 30 years and has not taken one dime of services or assistance from any one or any agency.
*After asking neighbors of this man, some more than 20 years, NO ONE has any issues. They all love him. quote him as an asset to the neighborhood.
*when I asked the neighbors about the tractors, they love it. Who doesnt like old tractors, Miss Fuentes? lol
*when asked if they saw any problems in the neighborhood that generated from these tractors they laughed at me. :)
*They said, "Tractors! have you seen the drug houses come and go and down pine grove ave and the back of summer street? have you seen the roudy bunch of hostile youths who used to inhabit and hang around the burned down house on susan street? have you seen the empty drug baggies and condom wrappers on the YMCA childrens park from youth and drug addict activity late at night in the park? the list goes on...
While I approve 100% any effort and gains the block by block program has made, I still see the same issues in the blocks you have already target. The "bad" crowds still linger up and down midtown. plaguing the city with crime and at the very least instilling fear in normal people. I see that it may be easier now in order to make the program become a success in the eyes of the daily freeman reader, to target regular hard working tax payers who already follow the rules and laws, so will of course do what you tell them. its a shame we have come to this.
Its a shame you or anyone have the time to see these antique tractors as a problem when gang activity, gang and drug violence, and basic quality of life issues rage through our city. Last time i checked, a tractor cant shoot 2 people, a tractor cant sell drugs, a tractor cant rob you, a tractor cant even make you feel uncomfortable to walk down the street. When residents of this city start saying, " Man, id like to go down PineGrove but I just cant take my chances with those tractors... Lets take Henry Street." -then i will jump on board your bandwagon and play this imaginary song with you.
Thank you all for your time, I hope we can all work together in some way to make kingston the place it was even 10 years ago. maybe even 5. But right now... its getting worse and worse everyday.

So because he is disabled and doesn't take advantage of any services or assistance from anyone means he can keep the property looking the way he does! Nope, it's an eye sore, regardless of his ability or disability. I'm a neighbor of his and no one asked me what I thought and if you did, your findings would be a bit different.
No one is saying that the tractors or dangerous, that's just crazy to think that or to think anyone would think that, but the fact is his weeds are over grown, and the cars and tractors parking on the street are an emergency disaster, considering that they now make a street that was meant to be two cars deep, now only one car deep. It's dangerous and ugly! 9/10 of the houses on Pine Grove are beautiful and well maintained. This house is one of the 1/10 that is disgusting and I don't want to see it every time I leave for work and come home from work! I've lost prospective tenants, and probably a decent amount of house value because of the eye sore on the street!

The YMCA is doing a great job of keeping the park clean. Last summer, neighbors and community volunteers added a raised garden, trimmed back weeds, added trash cans, etc. The YMCA is now using the park regularly and that makes a big difference. What was once ignored, is now turning into a neighborhood asset. It's far from perfect but not the mess it was.
