I am writing to report an unsafe and frankly scary situation I observed at Lighthouse Point Park last evening at 6:30 PM. The park was jammed with people and many children.
1. There were cars speeding around. There should be speed bumps throughout the park.
2. There was one young man alone at the entrance. Cars were speeding through not stopping for him. He also most likely had money in the booth and could have been attacked and robbed.
3. There were many people, including children in the water and the lifeguards were gone for the day.
4. There was a jet ski going back and forth not far from the beach at high speeds. He was also pulling up ON the beach.
Please, please in the future have a couple of officers down there after hours on these summer evenings. This is a tragedy waiting to happen.
