If you read the Board of Alderman minutes from June, it looks like Ansonia is in the process of drafting an ordinanace regarding signage. They do recognize the problem and are addressing it.

Having just moved to Ansonia, I was surprised to see all the signs on street corners and light poles. They are a distraction and not very pleasant as I am driving around town. They should be taken down.

More than half of the signs are from the city itself for a variety of events - so they are part of the problem that they are addressing? If the city can post signs, why can't other public organizations?
Just wait until campaign time...
