The contractor has not yet completed the guard rails at the Glen Eden crossing. They are working on this right now and should have it completed shortly.
Contractor should have a temporary handraid protection. This is a critical OSHA violation. No excuse for "waiting on handrails". They were not working on this this morning. Very very unsafe.
This trail is NOT open to the public. It is a construction zone and the public should not be exposed to the extreme fall hazard.
The contractor has continually tried to maintain construction signs and warning fencing (orange fence) to advise the public that the trail is not open. The signs are regularly removed or ignored. We will once again advise the contractor to ensure that the signs are up.
There are no signs, no barricades, no handrails, many people are using the walkway, and no handrails -20' fall hazard. No activity to fix yesterday. Non-action on a severe safety hazard could result in serious injury or death, gigantic lawsuits, and personal criminal liability for cty and or contractor management.
The public believes the path is open. There are no signs at the top of path down. There is no barricade. Walkers and bikers are using regularly. 20' plus fall hazard with no handrails or even temporary tape. A reported but unattended safety hazard could result in serious injury, death, gigantic lawsuits, and personal criminal lawsuits for unresponsive management employees.

Honest, we have communicated with the contractor about this. They have acknowledged it and should be out there today installing additional signage and fencing to inform the public that this trail is not yet open and is a hazardous construction site until officially opened.
