Description

[Note: This is a greenway path 'behind' Sutcliffe -- accessible from where the creek passes under Ray Road, ;not; from the neighborhood street.] This is the 'unpaved' portion of the greenway trail that follows along the creek from Ray to the paved trail leading to Lake Lynn Park's rec facility. The recent rainstorm created significant overwash, leaving lots of silt, standing water, and rutting along a long stretch of the path, making it nearly impassible by foot or bike until the standing water eventually subsides. (I see this stretch get periodic regrading attention after weather events, but IMHO there really needs to be a more permanent fix... It seems all the sand and material that gets hauled in to rebuild the path each time just gets washed into the tributaries by the next storm's flooding. Perhaps regrade again but pile a higher, more substantial berm along the south side of the creek that will keep the creek within its south bank.)
