This signage is correct as trucks turning left onto G Street should use the right lane as it provides a much wider turning area than the left lane. These signs are on Walnut Avenue which does allow trucks. The residential areas mentioned near Flagship and Azuar are almost one full mile away from this intersection. There is a no trucks sign on Azuar near flagship. The trucks would then be forced to turn left and go east on Kansas until they are back at Walnut, if they had in fact driven south on Azuar until they reached Flagship.

The truck drivers are seeing the sign (on Walnut) as an indication to turn right on G. Once they get on G, the GPS probably tells them to turn left on Azuar. The sign in not clear as to what they need to do. Please add your instructions on the sign that tells them to turn right so the drivers know not to use Azuar. Thank you.

There is absolutely no reason trucks can not go down Azuar as I described. The signs point them to Railroad, however there is nothing forcing them to go that way as it is legal to drive down either Walnut or Azuar. What a device tells them to do is not an issue for the city as we can't control third party programs. Also, most GPS units have a truck setting to use when setting directions. This avoids roads that are not allowed to be used by trucks as well as other congested areas and places with low clearance.

Azuar is a residential road. Plus the chapel has priceless windows. Trucks not only drive along Azuar but some of the drivers speed through - sometimes teetering as they round the circle.

As I have already described, the trucks can turn left instead of heading down further on Azuar into the residential area. If they choose to speed or not follow the signage, there is nothing to be done from a maintenance perspective. It then becomes an enforcement issue for the police.

This is actually good news. If the police come out, they'll by writing a lot of tickets. Thank you.
