I just reported another one across the street by the parking lot. I also called the Herald distribution office to see if they actually are servicing these machines at all. Left a message but no return call yet. I’ll post again if I get a call back.
Today I received a return phone call from Candy with the Herald. The boxes are not currently being serviced at all and the person responsible for distribution in Vallejo has recently injured their back and is not able to remove the boxes. So I explained that they are being listed as a public nuisance and blight on SCF, again, asking if they had plans to remove them, the answer is “no”. So I asked if the city should just go forward with removing them completely and she said “yes”.
So once again Vallejo is the red headed step child and gets treated as a dumping ground.
Justine, if you would like to call the Herald and verify this go ahead but take my word for it and just get rid of the boxes now.
