Thanks for reporting. I have referred this to the City’s Housing and Environmental Inspections Division. When the inspectors have had a chance to investigate I will post an update.

An inspector investigated and initiated a public nuisance case on 12/17/2013 with deadline of 12/31/2013

What happens if nothing is done by the deadline tomorrow??

If work is not completed at the time of re-inspection the City can begin the abatement process to complete the work. Updates will be posted here.

Just wanted to see if there was an update on this issue. Nothing has been done so far. (just fyi) Thank you for your help!

The abatement process length varies, I will request an update from Housing and Environmental Inspections.

Per Inspections: The letter that was mailed on 12/18/13 has been returned as undeliverable. Inspector spoke with the property management company who handles the subdivision entrance on 1/13/14 and forwarded a copy of the letter via email. They acknowledged the problem and will dispatch landscapers to correct the overgrowth immediately. A new deadline date of 1-24-14 has been established.

Per Inspections, inspector confirmed the violations cleared by Olde Raleigh HOA and the case has been closed on 1/31/2014.

Unfortunately, I wish I could say that this issue was resolved. In an attempt to please the city, the landscaping company that does the work for the Olde Raleigh Subdivision....has only done a half you know what job. Only some of the bushes have been trimmed and the ones that really needed to be trimmed, were not even touched. I would like for this issue to be reopened and this issue finally resolved. There is no reason that people walking on this sidewalk should have to move towards Duraleigh road in order to avoid the bushes!!!!!! This is SO UNSAFE! I will attach photos......

Here you can see how some bushes are not intruding on the sidewalk ...but the farther down you go, the more the bushes over take the sidewalk.

Here is a tiny section where the bushes are not close to the sidewalk. NOT the case in other areas along the sidewalk.

I do realize they "attempted" to cut SOME of the bushes...as this is what they left on the sidewalk.

We will forward these pictures to Insepctions for their determination.

Thank you. If you could ask whoever inspects this issue, to actually get out of their truck and walk on the sidewalk --- you can't miss the numerous overgrown bushes.

and if you need more pictures I would be happy to get more or better close up ones in order to have this issue finally resolved. thank you for your help.

The inspector has requested to meet with their landscaper to show them exactly what is needed to be in full compliance. We have issued a new completion deadline of 2-10-14.

Looks like they have FINALLY trimmed the bushes. You can see the brown on the sidewalk where the bushes have been sitting for such a long time! I could HUG you guys for making this happen!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Let's hope they keep them all trimmed so we don't have to revisit this topic! Thank you so very much for your help --- you guys ROCK!
