As a biker, I'm really glad that new bike lanes are being put in on Glen Eden, but the implementation is awful. The driving lanes now zigzag between Blue Ridge and Glenwood and bikers only have their own lane when going uphill and sharrows going downhill. In some places, the driving lane is very narrow (near Ridge Road). Why not just put a double yellow line down the middle of the street and bike lanes on both edges. The bike lane leaves too much room for parking, but it just makes no sense. People don't park much on that road anyway. I've watched drivers just drive in the new bike lane because the road zigzags so much. Really, what were they thinking?

On Lake Boone Trail, between Wycliff and halfway up the hill toward Ridge Rd, trees are covering all the signs for the beltline and also the traffic light at Wycliff. I reported this back in May and it's much worse now.

I know Glenwood is a State road, but there is a probably 3 foot diameter pothole on the bridge over Crabtree Creek in the Eastbound lane between Blue Ridge and the BP station. I could barely straddle it with my SUV.

Even since they started using the parking lot across Blue Ridge from Rex, the timing of the light at Macon Pond and Blue Ridge has been changed and is no longer synchronized with the lights at Blue Ridge/Duraleigh and Lake Boone. Can the lights be synchronized to let traffic flow freely while still allowing people to cross the street safely?

  • Duraleigh Road And Ebenezer Church Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Raleigh Council District D
I regularly cross Duraleigh Road at the crosswalk with Ebenezer Church and at least once a week, I see a car speeding through the red light. I never feel safe unless I look each driver in the eye to make sure they are going to stop. It happens going in both directions. Yesterday, two southbound cars ran the light while I was waiting and today another southbound one did. Often the gravel trucks will run the light because they can't stop. People coming around the curve are dangerous as well. If a red light camera isn't possible, perhaps repositioning one of the motorcycle officers trying to catch speeders on Edwards Mill would work.

The pavement on Edwards Mill road just south of Creedmoor Road Extension between the light and Stough is caving in on the southbound side in the right lane. It's not a huge problem yet, but it could become one.
