What could we do to have sidewalks installed at the entrance of Laurel Hills park?

I recently took the bus there and only then noticed how inaccessible this is for the disabled.  Pedestrians are forced in to the street if they arrive by foot.  Motorized traffic on Edwards Mill at this location travels extremely fast and I worry someone is going to be seriously injured by a careless driver.

To make things worse, the Sassafras All Children's Playground at Laurel Hills is specifically designed for children in wheelchairs.  There are many people in the Crabtree Valley area that could access this park by the newly installed GoRaleigh 26 line therefore I believe we should make this a priority.  If you look on street view you will notice at least 3 desire paths in the vicinity that connect to the Laurel Hills parking lot.  Unfortunately I doubt people in wheelchairs could use them even if they wanted to.
