8810 Georgia Ave Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver Spring
This memorial (on the grounds of the Department of Health and Human Services building) is supposed to be connected with a Japanese cherry tree. The tree was removed when the grounds were renovated.
Should the memorial be kept? Moved? Should a new cherry tree be planted in place of the old one?

Covered stop sign Apri8726 First Ave Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver Spring
It seems like a lot of people don't stop at all or do rolling stops. The stop sign is obstructed by the tree branch.
The branch needs pruning and the sign (the one at the northwest corner) may need better illumination.

Stop sign ignored Apri38.99685 -77.03323 - Silver SpringPeople have been speeding through without (full and complete) stops. Often it seem as though the people coming from The Fenwick apartment building are plain ignoring the stop sign (and that is during daylight).

cross signal timing Apri1510–1512 Spring St Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver Spring
The timing of the cross(walk) signals needs adjustment. Pedestrians have to wait something like a minute and a half for the cycle to complete - but it feels longer in colder temperatures.
Also, there is no time in the cycle for pedestrians alone - always against turning
cars. -
8677 Georgia Ave Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver Spring
The street light at this corner is randomly blinking and has been for a while. Probably not great for people sensitive to flashing lights plus it looks like someone sending a Morse code message.
A loose connection?

Cable across the sidewalk Archiviato1300 Spring St Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringA cable is spooled across the sidewalk along Spring St. It is unclear if it is a power cable.
-
fallen branches Archiviato8818 Georgia Ave Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringThere are all sorts of large fallen branches around the outer edge of the Woodside Urban Park tennis court.
-
Low hanging branches Archiviato8800 Georgia Ave Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringSome of the trees in Woodside Urban Park have been neglected. Branches are hanging pretty low, blocking walking paths for people over a certain height. This is mostly toward the Georgia Avenue side of the park.
-
7801 Chicago Ave Takoma Park MD 20912, United States - Takoma ParkSome tree branches are low/hanging over the sidewalk, making accessibility difficult for people over six feet tall.
-
low branches Apri8710–8798 First Ave Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringThe branches on this tree (up the hill from the tennis court) are a little low for those of us above 6 feet in height who wish to use the sidewalk.

dead bird Archiviato8727 Colesville Rd Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringA dead bird is in the middle of the sidewalk.

Lack of crosswalk Apri1101–1137 Fidler Ln Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringThis area was recently repaved but has no crosswalk lines. As it is along a major roadway, these would be helpful to have instead of assuming people know about implied crosswalks.
-
knocked over park light Archiviato1301–1349 Spring St Silver Spring MD 20910, United States - Silver SpringOne of the Woodside Urban Park path lights has fallen over or been knocked over. It is off and blocking the path.
-
16th St Silver Spring 20910, United States - Silver SpringThere is a crosswalk across Georgia Avenue but it no lights to indicate (when) it is safe to traverse. And judging how many lanes it takes to cross plus vehicles turning off of 16th Street, this is a massive safety problem.
-
9159–9199 16th St Silver Spring 20910, United States - Silver SpringThis crosswalk (across 16th at Georgia Avenue) needs a countdown timer on each side to let pedestrians no how long remains before the stoplight turns green (and this cars on 16th will be moving through the intersection).
-
9289–9299 16th St Silver Spring 20910, United States - Silver Spring
This is dangerous - a major road splitting into two roads (16th Street and Georgia Avenue) with only a cross walk. To cross it. A pedestrian needs to keep an eye on the Columbia Boulevard intersection to determine if the traffic is stopped.
.A crosswalk light here timed to the Columbia traffic would be helpful.
-
1001 Spring St Silver Spring 20910, United States - Silver SpringWith the addition of the separated bike lane, large vehicles turning right from
Colesville Road onto Spring now can’t make the turn with crossing the yellow lines and driving in the oncoming traffic lane. It is very dangerous. -
1110 Spring St Silver Spring 20910, United States - Silver SpringPeople drive through the crosswalk across Spring Street without slowing or stopping for pedestrians. Something needs to be done about it.
-
8726 First Ave Silver Spring 20910, United States - Silver SpringThe intersection at Spring street and First Avenue is now more dangerous. First it was the Easter Seals vans preventing people turning onto Spring from seeing around them, now the bike lanes have added another layer, forcing people to keep creeping up in order to see what is coming.
